Win a FREE internet marketing package for your small business

by on July 28, 2011

The contest is now CLOSED. Thanks to everyone who participated! The winners will be announced here on the blog the week of September 5th.

Time to spread the love and run my first contest ever. Yippee!

In business, it’s important to always be evolving. Changing things up to make things more convenient for your customers. To make buying from you as easy as possible.

And I’m a’ practicing what I preach. I now offer internet marketing packages for small businesses. They cover some of the most common projects I take on for entrepreneurs. You now get full-on transparency about the price and you get all the details about what exactly is included.

And the best part? The launch contest of course! I’m really excited to give small biz owners the chance to get some marketing goodness for free. Fun for me (I will get to meet lots of new entrepreneurs) and fun for you (yay free stuff!).

More on the prizes…

You can check out all the details on the internet marketing packages up for grabs on my website, or have a look at the video below where I discuss the packages and answer some questions such as…

    • Search marketing isn’t part of my strategy so why would I want to win?
    • I’ve already done some SEO stuff, is the prize still relevant to me?
    • What if I haven’t started my business yet?
    • What the heck is an audit and why is that valuable?

If you’re new here, a little about my approach. I give entrepreneurs advice and expertise that’s just for small business. There is a TON of info online; most of it is NOT for small businesses. So no wonder you feel overwhelmed and confused! Sometimes the recos I make for small biz owners might go directly against the advice you’ve read online. That’s because that advice wasn’t meant for you in the first place.

What the marketing packages allow me to do is get right into what is the best way forward online for YOUR business. I look at your specific situation – you will not get general advice here. If I don’t think it makes sense for your business to be on Twitter, I’ll tell you that. And I’ll tell you why.

This isn’t about shiny new objects (or marketing strategies). It’s about what you can do to have the most impact in your industry, your competitive environment, your niche.

Once I’m done with ya, you’ll be armed with ideas and resources so you can move forward with confidence and with purpose. Not the “jeez I hope this is gonna work” or “is this even the right thing to do?” that is so common when you’re trying to figure stuff out on your own.

And if you don’t win, well, I’m still here for you… blogging away and sharing all kinds of free resources via social media and the newsletter.

For me the toughest thing is finding the time to manage my online marketing. Running my biz day to day is enough as it is!

My toughest challenge for my brand new business is turning likes, followers and visitors into paying clients!

Its hard to get any business up & running (not to mention make it a successful business) especially on a shoe string budget!
I find Facebook a huge help in spreading the word.
I am also looking in to banner exchanges – where a site will display your banner, in return for you displaying theirs!
Its a win – win situation – and best of all FREE!!!
Now if i could get the hang of SEO & Keywords & meta tags etc….i may just get somewhere!

Have posted the comp on my facebook page (www.facebook.com/cheeseandpicklesonlineboutique) but for some reason cannot tag you to notify you 😉

Reply

Martina August 11, 2011 at 4:10 pm

No worries Vanessa! I’ve got your extra entry. I find that Facebook can be really slow at processing the tagging once you’ve “liked” a page. The same thing happened to me last week where the tag just wouldn’t work 🙂

Thanks for a chance to win some free advice about marketing my resort business! One of the toughest things for me regarding small business marketing is….hmmmmm…there’s so many to choose from….I’d have to say deciding which segment of customer to advertise to. We have spring fishermen, summer families with boats, fall leaf-peepers, and winter “snow-birds” from up north. How do I manage a single website that can speak to all? Okay, that’s my question-of-the-day. Thanks Martina! 🙂

The tough one for me is choosing what to invest in (both time- and moneywise), as I’m a ‘sole operator’.

I have so many great ideas for content that I want to develop, and I run out of time to do the content and mind the marketing the way that I need to. It would be so great to turn this over to you for awhile – plus it would give me outside perspective which is so crucial.

Lisa Oden August 12, 2011 at 2:42 am

LOL – I couldn’t figure out how to tag you on LinkedIn, and I tried to tag on my fan page but it didn’t take. Did also post to profile and Twitter – hope some of them stuck! Thanks again for your great example of a contest to run!

Hi Lisa,
You can’t tag in LinkedIn unfortunately, but if you send me the link I’ll count it. Same goes for anyone else that shares on LinkedIn.
Yes, the Facebook tagging is being finicky lately. If it’s not working for you, just send me the link of where you shared. And remember, clicking on the share button will not tag me (there’s no way to do that yet), so you’ll need to let me know if you’ve done so.
Lisa, with the LinkedIn I’ve got ya down for 6 entries! Sweet 🙂

Hi.
We are an online shop and have been around 5 years. We reach a niche market – engraved oyster knives and other accessories, popular in the South, but sold all around the country. We were the first website to offer this, but a few others have popped up since we began. Our website does the job, but I am a novice at search engines, etc. and I’d love to learn more. I found you on Mogal Mom!

Hi, thanks for this contest, I’m crossing my fingers that I win first prize, I could soooo use it. –although any of the prizes would be awesome, lol. I find the whole process so daunting that I haven’t even begun, but mostly once I find which key words are best for me, how do I ensure that they are on my site and able to be found by google? Where do they need to be? Just randomly throughout the website? In the titles? Just in the sitemap? 😛 –Thanks again, Deb of A.W.E. Handcrafted Jewelry

Your keywords will become your new online marketing best friends 🙂 They’ll go with you everywhere. Throughout your website content, in the titles and tags – wherever you can use them. You shouldn’t go crazy with them, however. Use them in a way that feels natural and right in your communications. Too much keyword use, and your message and flow gets lost. Good luck in the contest!

When I started up on my own, I was determined to do it all myself — including all the web/marketing stuff I knew nothing about. I joined an SEO Meetup.com group and, pen and pad in hand, I went to a meeting, thinking I would take some notes, and go home and make my website SEO solid. Right. Honestly? I nearly cried in that meeting. Don’t get me wrong — they were all very friendly and wonderful, but every word out of their mouths frustrated and confused me until I thought, this is hopeless! I’m a smart cookie and I have NO idea what they’re talking about! Ever since, I’ve just ignored SEO/internet marketing, in the hopes that it won’t matter (I know I’m wrong). I could really use the help. I just don’t get it and would love to have someone take the reins of this part of my business. I found you on Mogul Mom and am really glad you’re offering this. Even if I don’t win, whoever gets it will certainly benefit!! Good stuff — thank you!!
