Needing to resize your photos is a very common thing, especially online with all the different forums, social media sites and profiles to be filled out.
You know that your picture needs adjusting when it shows up all wonky. Your face or logo looks squished, or stretched. Nothing like the original photo. A lot of people just leave it as is, because they have no idea what to do about it. It seems like a techie thing. But, a poor quality image gives off a very unprofessional vibe.
So, let’s change that once and for all! I did up a quick little video to show you just how easy it is.
A couple of photo resizing tips:
- Make sure that the resizing that you are doing is shrinking photos, rather than enlarging them. If you try to go bigger, your photo will get blurry.
- Usually, if your photo looks off, the website you are on will give you guidelines as to the pixels required. If not, try doing a Google search (ie. Profile picture pixel requirements website name). If that doesn’t work, play around with reducing the pixels to different sizes until you find one that works.
Easy as pie! No graphic designer or technical knowledge needed.

I usually use Photoshop or some other software but had no idea about this. Thanks so much. I like the add on you can install on Windows and have images resized automatically with one right click on the image.
Thanks Maya! Yes, this is much easier than having to use Photoshop 🙂
